Welcome

Some initial thoughts

Welcome to my little plot of virtual land: a simple landing page with a few details about me and my work, and a few up-to-date samples. It also serves as a clearinghouse for relevant information that I gather about trends in music composition and about the people that create new stuff.

I'll continue to add to the "follow" links at right, as necessary, until I am forced to design a new way to categorize and post them. Visit, especially, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra "Keeping Score" project. While I am not involved in it, myself, it's great to see initiatives like these have such success.

I compose concert music for all sorts of performing groups and genres - symphony orchestra, chamber ensemble, art song, choral, electronic media. Right now, I am at work on a piece for chamber orchestra and narrator, using as text the Dylan Thomas prose poem "A Child's Christmas in Wales," commissioned by Dr. Steven Ward and the Abilene Christian University Department of Music. (Scroll down for up-to-date info.)

In recent years, I have leveraged my skills to be able to add commerical music projects to my resume. I've done work for short films, corporate informational videos, even dance recitals. Currently, my music is being added to both the Jingle Punks and AudioMicro music libraries and I am actively networking in the Boston metro area as a freelancer, but I'm always open to staff composer positions, if they are available! My goal is to establish myself in the sound-to-picture and audio branding industries. Only a few sample tracks are available here, some of my recent work, but I will try to replace these on a relatively regular basis, to keep the selections as fresh as possible.

I am also the music director at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Franklin, Massachusetts. I've been with this small, but outgoing and vibrant congregation for a few months and I am excited and proud to be a part of growing a new music ministry from the ground up.
